JAKE IN ECUADOR
I’m Jake and I worked on an organic farm in Ecuador for 6 months.
FBU Organic Farm, which serves as a model for others in the region. The farm is a small community of two families and is located above the main community of around 40 families.
MY ROLE IN FBU ORGANIC FARM
I implemented all practices; clearing of land, preparation of social, planting and harvesting crops, tree nursery, reforestation, milking the cows and also helped with training, selling and analysis the products and production.
A TYPICAL DAY FOR ME IS…
Planting vegetables and making new beds as well as milking the cows.
WHAT I’VE BEEN UP TO WHEN I’M NOT VOLUNTEERING
Travelling, partying and meeting lots of awesome people!
THE MOST INTERESTING THING ABOUT LIVING & VOLUNTEERING IN ECUADOR IS
Experience vibrant and beautiful cultures and gaining the opportunity to understand and learn from them.
FROM MY VOLUNTEER PLACEMENT I LEARNT/GAINED
I’m still processing the full extent of my transformation so all I can tell you know is I can speak Spanish!
